First look at the Desire 8: HTC’s next best chance to boost sales


HTC isn’t waiting until next week’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) event to build buzz. The company postedimages of its upcoming Desire 8 handset on China’s Weibo site, showing off a thin handset that’s likely aimed at budget or mid-range markets. Those segments have more sales growth potential than the high-priced flagship market, which could give HTC the sales boost it desperately needs.


On the outside, the Desire 8 — which was spotted by Android Community — looks as nice as any flagship with a thin profile and rounded edges. The phone looks like a slimmed down version of the HTC One; a high-end Android(s goog) device that is expected to see a refresh on March 25.
